    Social Share Images

    Choosing a Format

    Format Best for
PNGScreenshots, logos, text, and anything with transparency. Lossless, so files are larger.
JPEGPhotos. Small files at 80-90% quality. No transparency - transparent areas become white.
WebPWeb photos and graphics. Usually 25-35% smaller than JPEG at the same quality, with transparency.

Need a smaller file at the same size? Run the result through the Image Compressor.

    Pro Tip: URL Parameters

Bookmark a ready-made setup: /image-resizer/?preset=og opens with the 1200 x 630 Open Graph crop, and ?w=800&format=webp sets an 800 px wide WebP output.

Presets: og, x, ig-square, ig-portrait, story, youtube, hd, icon. Formats: png, jpeg, webp.

Why We Built This Image Resizer

Most online image resizers make you guess: they resize first and crop blindly, upload your photos to a server, or squash a 4:3 photo into a 16:9 box. We wanted a resizer that shows exactly what you will get - a real crop box over your image, the final pixel size, and the file size - before you download anything.

Everything happens in your browser. Photos are read with their EXIF orientation, cropped where you choose, scaled down in high-quality halving steps, and saved as PNG, JPEG, or WebP with location and camera data removed. Presets cover the sizes social networks and app stores ask for, and batches of up to 20 images download as a single ZIP. The size math is shared with our Image Compressor, so both tools always agree on the dimensions.

The Image Resizer is part of RJL.io's collection of free developer tools. Shrink file sizes further with the Image Compressor, create stand-in artwork with the Placeholder Image Generator, and build a full icon set with the Favicon Generator.
